Cedar River Canoe & Sandbar Camping
ITINERARY
We will meet at Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area at the Cedar River Boat Ramp Area (#5 on the map https://muscatinecountyconservation.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/area_saulsbury.pdf ) at 0700 hours to get a ride to the launch area with gear. Folks will park their car here. If people want to arrive here the night before and camp at Saulsbury so they don’t have to leave so early from home, they can. They don’t take reservations, it’s a self-registration system.

Day 1, 0900 hours launch canoes at Cedar Valley Park, canoe 10 miles. Pass thru Rock Creek Island State Preserve. Thru Rochester Park. Cross I80.
Night 1 on Sandbar, just downriver of I80 and 320th Street on right hand side sandbar near fields.
Day 2, canoe 10 miles to Wiese Slough Sandbar.
Night 2 on Wiese Slough Sandbar, just downriver of Hwy 6 and Jack Shuger Memorial Park.
Day 3, canoe 6.5 miles to Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area and take out. End Trip.
Cedar River Canoe & Sandbar Camping Adventure
2 Nights Tent Camping, 3 Days Canoeing, 26.5 Miles Total.
Minimum number of People: 4-8 at $150 each
Maximum number of People: 9-16 at $120 each
Trip includes: 2 hot breakfasts, 2 hot dinners, Canoe rental and transportation to canoe launch, Group Gear, Recommended Packing List, and Guide and Canoe Instruction Service. Lunches/Snacks are not provided.
